What We Love About Tennessee

At My Garage Floor Guys, we love serving the residents of Tennessee. We’re locals too, and we love the Volunteer state, with its mild snowfall in the winters and hot and humid summers. We want what’s best for its nearly seven million residents, which is why we offer high-quality garage floor coatings in locations all around the greater Nashville area.

Tennessee is the 11th-most visited state in the U.S. It’s no wonder, with its splendid waterfall hikes and rich biodiversity. Tennessee borders the Blue Ridge Mountains on the east and the Mississippi River on the west. The most-visited attraction in the state is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, accounting for over 14 million visitors each year. It is also the most visited national park in the United States.

In addition to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, most of the Blue Ridge area of the state is protected by the Cherokee National Forest, other state parks, and federal wilderness. Approximately 52% of Tennessee’s 42,143 square miles is forested. Among the pine, spruce, pine, oak, and hickory trees, you can find hundreds of bird and fish species, frogs and toads, turtles, foxes, deer, raccoons, and black bears.

Here in the South, we have a keen appreciation for good music, and Tennessee is known for producing only the best. Tennessee in general and Nashville in particular have a rich musical heritage. Some of the most popular music in the world was born right here. Country, blues, rock and roll, soul, bluegrass, gospel, and Contemporary Christian music have all been shaped at least partially right here on our doorstep.

Nashville is a hub of country music, the center of recording country music. Lovingly nicknamed “Music City,” Nashville always has concerts, festivals, and other live performances to enjoy. The capital of the state, located in Shelby County, is culturally diverse and the perfect place to have a good time.

On the other side of the state, in the Smokies near Knoxville, is the most visited ticketed attraction in Tennessee: Dollywood. There’s no shortage of resorts, rides, music, food and fun at all times of the day and night. For a more contemplative time, you can check out any of the four Civil War battlefield locations that the National Park Service preserves. If you want to take in as much of the state as possible, Tennessee has eight National Scenic Byways.
